Métodos y Técnicas de Laboratorio I: Lítica (AN01048-1)
Hi readers.
About my classes, I have to say that the more interesting one, on my actual mention, is called
Métodos y Técnicas de Laboratorio I: Lítica, labeled as AN01048-1.
On this class, we do the study and analysis of lithic technology and his applicattion to understand how the past people lived, after all, we can take evidence from this pieces of stone to make models and interpretations of the lifestyle of the past populations.
This models can help us to explain and study topics like:
(1)Mobility and Technology.
(2)Provisioning and flow of raw materials.
(3)Lithic technology, intensification of economy and social complexity.
(4)Learning and technique abilities.
(5)Know how and technologic style.
(6)Prestige technology, social agency and symbolism.
And to achieve that, we use different kind of schools. The French School of lithic technology focus his work on Chaine operative, which means the analysis and study of how this instruments are made, dividing this in four stages: Provisioning, Manufacturing, Use (recycling) and Discard. With an approach from experimentation. Instead, the American School of lithic technology use a methodology focused on etnographic (fieldwork) evidence also cloncluding in the division of the same four stages. Both ended with similar questions and answers.
In classes, we had a practice where we experimented with cores of stone, we tried to make flakes, then we tried to make stone tools, finally we tried use them on diferent kind of materials like wood and bones to make marks of use on them. We failed on the last one. To make a stone tool with obvious marks of use, it has to be used a lot (years). It was fun, so that's why I like this class more than others.
Soon I will have another class related to this called Métodos y Técnicas de Laboratorio II: Cerámica. I guess it will be fun too.
That will be all pals.
Sound that you enjoy very much this subject.I hope that the another class will be more joyful for you
ReplyDeletewow the subject it's very interesting (:
ReplyDeleteIt's sounds like forensic works made to people that lived ages and centuries before us. I found it awesome !
